Ms. Trantham was born in North Carolina and still loves calling NC home.  She was a NC Teaching Fellow and graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science and earned her Master of School Administration from NC State University.  Ms. Trantham has been in education for over 20 years serving as an elementary and middle school teacher, assistant principal and principal.  Ms. Trantham is a HUGE NC State Wolfpack fan, and she and her husband, Kevin, are often seen at various Wolfpack sporting events.  She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, listening to music and reading.  Ms. Trantham is honored to be the principal of Abbotts Creek and enjoys building a strong team with parents, students and staff. 

With two decades of hands-on classroom experience and a rich background as a literacy coach, Dr. Lamon brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for education to the assistant principal role. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of School Administration, and a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she is well-equipped to foster academic excellence. Outside of work, Dr. Lamon enjoys spending time with her family, including her son, when he is home from college, and her delightful Shih Tzu, Duke, a charming companion who proudly sports his Blue Devil spirit.

Ms. Bigelow spent most of her childhood in Delaware before attending Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!) where she received her undergraduate degree in elementary education. While working as a 4th grade teacher, Ms. Bigelow earned her Masters in Instructional Technology.  In addition to her time as a 4th grade teacher, Ms. Bigelow has also spent time as an AIG teacher and technology teacher.  Ms. Bigelow enjoys working part-time at ACES as well as spending time at home with her kids.

Mr. Savo is honored to join Abbotts Creek Elementary as this year's Administrative Intern. Before entering education, he served in the U.S. Army, where he learned the value of honor, commitment, and teamwork. He holds a B.S. in Middle Grades Education from NC State University and began his teaching career in 2020, teaching 8th Grade ELA at Oberlin Magnet Middle School. He is currently a NC Principal Fellow in NCSU’s Masters of School Administration program. Mr. Savo lives in Raleigh with his daughter. He enjoys cooking, reading, the outdoors, and is a super fan of The Office. He looks forward to supporting the Abbotts Creek community in the 2024-2025 school year.
