Excellent Tutorials
Posted by Robert Swanson on 3/17/2016Students and Parents, with the end of the year exams approaching, many of you may wish to refresh your memory on Spanish grammar. Click here, and view a wide range of short videos explaining various aspects of Spanish grammar, that "necessary evil" which can bring together all your random vocabulary to form a clear message! Scroll down the "homework help" page and click on the yellow tab marked "Lesson 101" for the various topics.
(Please note that you will need to have "Quicktime" installed as your video viewing software; if you don't, you will only hear the audio, and should click on the Quicktime link to download and install or update it on your computer.)
Our class textbook is also available online by clicking this link. You will need to contact me in order to get your username and password, but this is an excellent way to finish assignments and review at home! At a minimum, use it to review your vocabulary, as found in the chapter review pages at the end of each section.

Hola!
Posted by Robert Swanson on 3/10/2016Hola Amigos! Just a quick note to remind students of all levels that what we do in class needs to be submitted to me (Sr. Swanson) upon completion. I can't give you credit for doing work I never see! Please come to class prepared to do some written work each day, although lots of days we focus only on speaking/listening/reading skills.

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de Español!
Looking forward to the start of the new school year 2016-2017.
The middle school Spanish program is an introduction to the study of the Spanish language and its culture. The emphasis is on the development of the four skills; comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. These skills will be taught and practiced in all Spanish classes. The goal is to make students comfortable with the language as they acquire insight into how languages and cultures work by comparing the Spanish language/culture to English.
There are two Spanish classes available to students:
Beginning Spanish - semester long - available in either 6th or 7th grade
Spanish 1 - year long - 8th grade only for students who successfully complete Beginning Spanish with an "A." This class is equivalent to Spanish 1 in High School, and is appropriate for students who are academically focused and highly motivated. Is this you? :)
