    Janiece Dilts has served in education for 19 years.  She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in English Education, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner Webb University.  Prior to becoming a school administrator, she taught English in middle and high school.  Mrs. Dilts served as an assistant principal at Millbrook High School and Holly Grove Middle prior to serving as the principal of Holly Grove Middle for over four years.  She is married to an educator, Matt Dilts, and they have two wonderful children, Madelyn and Preston.  Mrs. Dilts looks forward to serving the students, staff, and community of Broughton Magnet High School and continuing its legacy of excellence.  GO CAPS!

    Brenda Harrell has devoted more than 25 years in education. Her experiences range from elementary, middle and high school. During her career she’s had the privilege of working in several capacities such as: Principal of a private high school, Assistant Principal of a private k-8, Assistant Principal at a middle in the Durham Public School System for several years, an educational liaison, and teacher of middle and high school English, Social Studies, Science, and Math. In addition, Ms. Harrell has served as an Exceptional Children’s Facilitator and as a cooperating teacher. Ms. Harrell has a heart for all students and is tenacious in supporting teachers and students to assist in accomplishing her philosophy which is that every child can learn, they are conceived with destiny, born with a purpose and packaged with potential. Currently, Mrs. Harrell is starting her 5th year as an Assistant Principal at Broughton High School. Ms. Harrell has a BA in Psychology, a Masters in Special Education and School Administration, and a Doctorate in Theology.

    Adam Hatch has been an educator and administrator in North Carolina for 21 years. A product of Wake County Schools (Sanderson, 1990), he also attended Broughton High for two years. He received a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in 1995 and from East Carolina University in 2006 with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Hatch taught Social Studies at Heritage High School for 6 years. He has spent 18 years in the public-school classroom. He has also taught in North Carolina Virtual Public Schools for 12 years. He is married to a Franklin County Administrator, Erin Hatch, and they have two children in Wake County Schools. Mr. Hatch is looking forward to serving the entire Broughton Magnet High School community!

    Mike Bartels is originally from Minnesota and lived in Africa, Asia, and Europe, as well as across the U.S., before settling in North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of History from Wheaton College (IL) and a Master of Educational Administration from Liberty University. He served in the Army and worked in international development before teaching high school social studies and serving as a principal at an international school in the Philippines. He taught middle school social studies in Lee County and Wake County. He was an assistant principal at Apex High School before coming to Broughton. Outside of school he enjoys mountain biking, reading, watching football, and spending time with his family.

     Ms. Kamesha Johnson has been an educator for 15 years. Ms. Johnson received a bachelor's in Special Education from East Carolina University and a master's in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. Ms. Johnson taught middle grades Special Education, English Language Arts/Social Studies, and was also an Instructional Specialist, prior to becoming an Administrator. Ms. Johnson has also served as an Assistant Principal at Brogden Middle School, Dudley, NC and Holly Grove Middle School, Holly Springs, NC. Ms. Johnson is the daughter of Dr. Michael and Mrs. Wanda Johnson and the sister of Kiahna Johnson, all of Goldsboro, NC. Ms. Johnson is excited to be a part of the Broughton Family and looks forward to providing serving in her role as Assistant Principal.

    Beth Gulewich is entering her 20th year as a proud public school educator and her first year as an Assistant Principal at Broughton High School. Recently, she served students and families in Franklin County at Terrell Lane Middle School as Assistant Principal. Ms. Gulewich is an Oregonian, who earned her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in German Literature at the University of Oregon. She moved to Raleigh in 2001. She graduated from NC State University with a Masters in School Administration after completing a full-time Administrative internship during the 2018/19 school year at Broughton. She is currently working toward a Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership at NC State University with her dissertation research focusing on access and success for students of color and economically-disadvantaged students in advanced courses in high school. Ms. Gulewich also has a passion for global education. She led the German program and GAPP exchange program for 15 years at BHS also teaching IB Theory of Knowledge for four years. She is a member of Raleigh Sister Cities and a trustee to the Wade Edwards Learning Lab (WELL). She and her partner, Nathan, are proud parents of two young adults, Max and Nina, who are successful alumni of the WCPSS magnet program.

    With a decade of educational experience, Anthony Grondziowski is entering his first year as an assistant principal at Broughton High School. Anthony is from Pittsburgh and earned his undergraduate degree in education from Robert Morris University in 2014. After graduation, he taught as a social studies teacher and instructional technology facilitator at Iredell-Statesville Schools. In 2017, Anthony moved to Wake County Public Schools where he taught AP World History and AP Psychology at Fuquay-Varina, Green Level, and Willow Spring High Schools. He has served on school leadership, school improvement team, WCPSS Social Studies Core Leadership, and as department chair. He is also a proud parent of two children, Carolina and Andrew. Most recently, Anthony graduated from NC State University with a Master's in School Administration after completing a full-time administrative internship during the 2023-2024 school year at Fuquay-Varina Middle School. He is excited to serve the Broughton High School community!

    Mr. Whiteside has been a proud educator for 14 years. Mr. Whiteside earned a bachelor's in Political Science, and a master's in Curriculum & Instruction from NC State University. In 2021, Mr. Whiteside earned his Principal Licensure from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He started his teaching career in the Wake County Public School System as a high school social studies teacher. In 2013, he relocated to Georgia and taught in the Atlanta Public School System and served as assistant football coach and debate coach. After returning to Wake County in 2017, he served as School Improvement Chair, Faculty Equity Team Co-Chair, and advised student equity teams at Millbrook High School. Recently, Mr. Whiteside served as an Assistant Principal at Garner Magnet High School. Mr. Whiteside enjoys time with family, traveling, current events, and Wolfpack Sports! He is married to an educator, and they have a labradoodle named Legend.

    Jordan Munday is the Assistant Principal Intern at Broughton High School and a proud North Carolina Principal Fellow. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in School Administration through the North Carolina Educational Leadership Academy at NC State. With a background in teaching in Wake County, Jordan is dedicated to supporting students in overcoming obstacles and reaching their full potential. Drawn to Broughton for its rich traditions and welcoming community, she is excited to contribute to the school’s ongoing success.
