Senior Timeline of Events

Below are key events during the senior year.  

• May 2024, Rising Senior Class Information Shared
  Details related to the senior year and senior activities were discussed with students (Slides | Video).  Questions? Contact Mr. Pittman (bpittman@wcpss.net).
    
• June 17-21, Senior Portraits
  Seniors should sign up for their senior portraits.  Photographers will be on campus at AFHS from June 17-21.
               
• July 8 - August 1, Senior Parking Lottery
  Seniors can enter the senior parking lottery during these dates.  After the lottery closes, remaining spaces will be made available to juniors.  More Information
         
• Monday, August 26 - Senior Social, 11am - 1pm
  The senior social will be on August 26 from 11am - 1pm in the AFHS cafeteria.  This will be the kickoff to the senior year.  The event will include food, games, and information on key dates for the school year.
               
• Monday, August 26 - Senior Parking Space Decoration, 5-7pm
  Senior parents will have an opportunity to decorate their senior's parking space for the first day of school.  Chalk only drawings can be created in the parking space.
          
• August 27 - First Day of School & Senior Parade
          
• August 28-30 - Senior Class Meeting at Pat Chats

• September - Cap & Gown Orders
  Jostens will be on campus to take senior cap & gown orders for graduation.
    
• September 10 @ 5pm - Senior Parent Meeting 
  Parents will meet to receive information related to upcoming deadlines, opportunities, and supports related to post-graduation opportunities. Location: AFHS Auditorium.  Questions? Contact Ms. Carter (scarter@wcpss.net).
  
  
• October 17 - Senior Portrait Make Ups
  Lifetouch will be on campus to take make up senior portraits. 
               
• December 2024 - Midyear Graduates Meeting
  Midyear graduates will meet to get information about their graduation ceremony options, exams, etc.  Contact Mr. Pittman (bpittman@wcpss.net) for more information.
  
  
• January 16, 2025 - Midyear Graduation Ceremony, 6pm
  Midyear graduates will engage in their graduation ceremony in the AFHS Auditorium starting at 6pm.
  
  
• February 2025 - Senior Class Meetings
  Seniors will have senior class meetings in the first few weeks of the spring semester in order to receive information about graduation and spring senior activities.
  
  
• February 18, 2025 - Senior Cap & Gown Photos
  Seniors will have the opportunity to take cap & gown photos while at school.  These are optional photographs.  More information will be shared through homerooms in February.
    
• March 2025 (date TBD) - Senior Parent Information Session
  This session will provide parents with an overview of upcoming senior activities, graduation, etc.  The event will be virtual and a recording of the session will be placed on this page after the event.
  
  
• March 2025 (date TBD) - Cap & Gown Distribution
  Seniors will be able to pick up caps & gowns during their lunch period.  Distribution will happen in the auditorium lobby.  Questions?  Contact Ms. Colhoun (lcolhoun@wcpss.net).
  
  
• April 11, 2025 - Prom
    
• April 2025 (date TBD) - Senior Class Meetings
  Seniors will meet in groups to receive information about senior activities and graduation. 
  
  
• Thursday, June 5, 2025 - Graduation Rehearsal & Senior Awards Day
  Graduation rehearsal & senior awards day will be combined for seniors.  This event is required for all seniors in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Students must participate in rehearsal in order to get their tickets and participate in the graduation ceremony.  We will operate on this schedule for the event:
  
  4:30 - Seniors Arrive for rehearsal
  5:30 - Guests will be admitted to the gym for Senior Awards Program
  6:00 - Senior Awards Program
          
• Friday, June 13, 2025 @ 8pm - Graduation Ceremony
