Ms. Amy Whitley

Ms. Whitley is from New Bern, North Carolina. She completed her undergrad degree from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Journalism and Communication Studies double major. She  completed her Master of Arts in Teaching K-6 at ECU. She likes to cook (but not bake). She enjoys swimming/spending time on and around the river/beach. One fun fact about her is- She worked on a dude ranch in Jackson Hole, WY after she graduated from college.

Ms. Mary Lai

My name is Mary Lai and I am thrilled to be joining the first grade team this year! I am entering my 7th year at Stough and have enjoyed teaching in special education and kindergarten. I received my Licensure in Elementary Education from Peace University. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and baking. My goal is to provide a loving, nurturing and supportive learning environment for your child.

Ms. Qiqi Lin

I come from Guangdong Province,which located in the South part of China and you can have lots of delicious seafoods and snacks. I hold a Master's degree in Yunnan Minzu University, majoring in Teacher Chinese as Second Language for foreigners. I have been teaching Chinese in South Korea and Utah. I like to cooking,hiking,play traditional instrument Pipa and enjoy the natural views. 

I'm #StoughProud because: I have been a teacher for 8 years, focusing on the younger grades and Chinese dual immersion for 5 years. Stough is the only Chinese immersion program in Wake County Public Schools. I know this program is awesome and I enjoy working with children. Stough's mission is to ENGAGE, EMPOWER, and EDUCATE, which I also what I want to bring to my students. I am looking forward to being the bridge between the US and China.

Ms. Lori Stancill

Hi Stough families! My name is Lori Stancill and I am thrilled to be a part of the Stough community! I am originally from Raleigh and graduated from Athens Drive High School. Go JAGS!!! After graduating from ECU, I began my career in education. Over my 26 years, I have been blessed with a variety of roles and experiences. I have served as an instructional coach, curriculum developer, parental involvement coordinator, and an implementation coordinator for Eastern NC. However, my true love is being in a classroom with students, and that is where I have spent over ½ of my career. Thank you for welcoming me as a Stough Stallion! I am looking forward to great things to come.

Ms. Juntong (Zoe) Zhou

My name is Zoe Zhou, coming from Xi'an, known as the Terracotta Warriors. I got my master degree from Xi'an International Studies University, and majored in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. I have been working in International schools in Xi'an, South Korea and Shenzhen for 7 years. This year will be my second year at Stough. I believe in the power of education and I would like to empower students to explore their strengths and interests. As a lifelong learner, I also would like to listen to students and empower their agency to help them grow, play and learn. Together, let's make it another great year!
