Mrs. Lacey Peckham, Principal

Hello! I am Lacey Peckham and I proudly serve as principal at Middle Creek High School. I am a former Spanish teacher, with experience at both the middle and high school levels in Wake County Public Schools.  After teaching, I served as an Assistant principal at Sanderson HS, Martin GT Magnet Middle School and as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Middle Creek High School.  During my tenure at MCHS, I was selected as the WCPSS Assistant Principal of the Year in 2014. In 2015, I was appointed principal at Martin GT Magnet Middle School and served the Martin school staff and community for 5 years before being named as the principal here at “The Creek.”  I love getting to be a part of this #STRONGStable and am proud of the work we do daily to provide quality learning and extracurricular experiences for our students.  When not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling and supporting the NC State Wolfpack and Carolina Hurricanes! Thank you to our amazing staff, families and community members for the unwavering support of our students, each and every day.

Ms. Laura Megronigle, Assistant Principal of Instruction (12th, A-Z)

Welcome to Middle Creek!  I am originally from Pennsylvania, where I taught Special Education at the middle school level for 7 years and completed my Masters in Teaching and Curriculum and Administrative Certification at Penn State University, Go LIONS!  Once we moved to Raleigh, I taught special education for one year at Martin Middle School and then moved to Middle Creek in 2012 and it has been my home ever since.  Before becoming an AP, I was a Special Education Teacher and Department Chair here in the #STRONGStable.  I love attending all of the events at school and cheering on our Mustangs.  However, when I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, going to her events or games, taking my dog, Nittany, for a walk or just reading a good book.

Mrs. Suzanne Schultz, Assistant Principal (Students 9th-11th, A-Di)

Hi, I’m Suzanne Schultz. I grew up in Pennsylvania and earned my Communications degree from Penn State University, followed by a Master’s in Education and Teaching from NC State and a Master’s in School Administration from Western Carolina University, where I was honored with the NC Principals Fellowship. I have two wonderful kids—one starting middle school and the other beginning at UNCW this fall. My husband and I have been married for 20 years, and we love spending time outdoors watching our kids play soccer and baseball. I also love coffee and spending time with friends who are more like family.

I worked for Johnston County Public Schools for 10 years, where I spent most of my time as a classroom teacher, but also enjoyed working as a district curriculum coach, teacher mentor and admin intern. Last fall, my family and I relocated to Fuquay-Varina. I am excited to work at Middle Creek High School and look forward to building relationships at The Creek.

Mr. Aaron Baer, Assistant Principal (Students 9th-11th, Do-La)

Goooood morning! I am originally from Michigan but hated the cold so I moved to the south. I received a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Masters in school Administration from Central Michigan University. I taught middle school science at East Lee Middle School and was an assistant principal at Harnett Central Middle School before coming to Middle Creek High School.  Outside of school I enjoy going to the gym, coaching and playing Ultimate Frisbee, traveling, and spending time with my friends.

Mr. Katona Thomas-Briggs, Assistant Principal (Students 9th-11th, Ro-Z)

Hey there! I am a proud native of the All-American city of Fayetteville, North Carolina, where I graduated as a 4th generation student from the historic E.E. Smith Senior High School (Golden Bull Pride!) and Math and Science Academy as a North Carolina Academic Scholar. After graduation, I chose to attend North Carolina Central University (Eagle Pride AMPLIFIED!) where I majored in History and Psychology. I also completed a program of study in social science at the University of California at Los Angeles (Go Bruins!) and received a master's degree in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (TAARRR!). My school administration experience includes serving as Assistant Principal Intern at Leesville Road Elementary and then Assistant Principal at Wake Forest Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to a good audiobook or podcast and being involved in the community through nonprofit work and my fraternity. I look forward to serving you and your family here at The Creek!
