Hi! My name is Hilary May Byrd, I’m so happy to be your child's teacher this year! This will be my eleventh year of teaching and my third year in first grade at Kingswood. I taught second grade for eight years in Wilmington. I attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Child Psychology. I loved the beach so much that I lived in Wilmington for several years afterwards. I was born and raised in Cary, NC and moved back here a few years ago to be closer to my family. I also got married this summer to my husband, and now I am not only a mom to my two sweet boys, but also a stepmom to my two sweet stepsons. We have two adorable dogs, Layla and Winston. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family & friends, play soccer, enjoy the outdoors and go to the beach! I am looking forward to a wonderful year teaching your children and helping them grow!

Hi! My name is Jordyn Johnson and I am so excited to join the Kingswood family as a 1st grade teacher! I am a recent Meredith College graduate and this will be my first year teaching. I grew up in Raleigh with my parents and two younger siblings and I now live with my boyfriend of 9 years, our cat, and our rabbit! I love cooking, watching comedy movies/TV shows, and going to the beach!

Hi! My name is Briana Lingle and this is my fourth year teaching at Kingswood Montessori STEM Magnet School! I can’t wait to meet all of my 1st grade students and their great families!

I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington with a degree in Exercise Science and quickly realized that that wasn’t my real passion, but that teaching was. I then went to North Carolina State University to receive my masters degree in teaching! I love working with children and challenging them to become the best they can be, both academically and emotionally. This year is going to be a great year!

Hello! I am Ms. Richard and this is my 7th year at Kingswood in First Grade! I am from the coast of NC and graduated from NC State University. I have two dogs, Perri and Porter, who I love tremendously. Outside of teaching I love to travel, read, and spend time with friends. It is going to be a great year!

Hi! My name is Kim Golden and I'm so glad to be returning to Kingswood for my 7th year as an lA. Before I joined the Kingswood team I taught at a preschool and was a stay at home mom of two daughters, who both attended Kingswood. Madison is 15 and Peyton is 14. I enjoy running and going back to Florida every chance I get to spend time with family and enjoy the beautiful Gulf Coast.

Hola, my name is Ms. Camille Mendez. I'm from San Juan Puerto Rico. I have a BS in Communication Advertising. I have two handsome boys and a Beagle mix name Sparkle. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, painting and dancing. This is my second year at Kingswood Elementary, but I have been with WCPSS for 7 years. Working with children is my passion, every day is a new adventure in the teaching world.

Hi, my name is Christina Robinson ("Mrs. R." to the students). I'm blessed to be a mom to my two children, Jason and Emma. I hold a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in counselor education. I'm originally from New York, where I worked in the editorial and education fields. This is my third year working at Kingswood as an instructional assistant, and I absolutely love it! Helping others always brings me so much joy. Other things in life that I enjoy include sharing time with family and friends, nature photography, country music and line dancing, traveling, crafting, reading, watching movies, writing, exploring thrift stores and yard sales, and collecting rocks/minerals/gems.
