Hi Kingswood families! This will be my seventh year as the School Library Media Coordinator at Kingswood. I am originally from New York, and I earned my undergraduate degrees in English and French from Boston University. My graduate degrees in English Literature and Library Science are from UNC-Chapel Hill, and I also completed the school library licensure program at UNC-Greensboro. Like most librarians, I love books! I have worked in publishing and with rare printed materials in the past, but I really enjoy sharing the love of reading with students. I also love art, travel, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to a great year at Kingswood!

Hi Kingswood Families! My name is Coach B; this is my 4th year as the PE teacher at Kingswood. I am from Emerald Isle, NC, and I moved to Raleigh in 2015 to attend Meredith College. I earned a degree in Exercise Sports Science and obtained a K-12 teaching license in Health and PE. At Meredith College, I ran collegiately on the Cross Country and Track Teams and was a Teaching Fellow. In 2022, I graduated with my master's in Kinesiology from the University of North Georgia. I have a Goldendoodle named Maple, and I am a lover of anything Disney World! This summer, I got married at the beach in my hometown and went to Hawaii & DisneyLand! I am very excited for a fun and active year!

Hi Kingswood families!  My name is Ms. B, or Ms. Burkoski, and this is my first year teaching. I graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Environmental Sustainability, and minors in Geoscience, and Religious and Ethical studies. I am an official retired NCAA athlete, and I loved every Meredith tradition; go odds! I love traveling and seeing everything that the world has to offer. I also love my cat Rosemary; most students have already seen thousands of pictures of her. I am excited to officially start this new journey!

Hi Kingswood families! This is my 7th year as the Art teacher here at Kingswood. I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture before continuing to their graduate program for Art Education. I am also a National Board-Certified teacher. In my classroom I practice the TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) pedagogy. A belief that the students are the artists, and the classroom is their studio. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing with my dog, Cody, hiking, watching football and traveling! My husband and I have been to 40 countries. I love sharing with students the world’s beautiful sites, cultures, and ART. I am looking forward to another great year filled with creativity and fun!

Hello Kingswood community! I am super excited for our first year in music together, and can't wait to hear our students' voices in the classroom. I am a Cary local, who is returning to the area after just recently graduating with a degree in K-12 Music Education from UNC-Chapel Hill. When I'm not at school, planning fun songs and activities, you can find me playing banjo at bluegrass events, and enjoying strategy games at home.
