Kelly DiGiovanni

Hi! I am Kelly DiGiovanni.  I was born in Elizabeth City, NC and attended East Carolina University - Go Pirates! I have been teaching at Rolesville Elementary for over twenty years.  I taught third grade for eight years, and then moved to fifth grade.  I currently teach fifth grade Math and Science.

Rolesville Elementary is a great place to learn because our staff is committed to our students and the community.  We all work to ensure students are learning and that they know they are cared about.

I chose to work at Rolesville Elementary because even though Wake County is huge, we still have a small town feel.  I love knowing so many of the families that are a part of our school, teaching my former students' siblings, and seeing my former students in the community.

Joe Pallozzi

Hi! I am Joe Pallozzi.  This is my 26th year teaching elementary school students. I have taught in both 5th and 6th grades. I taught for 18 years in Pennsylvania and this is my 8th year here at Rolesville Elementary. I have a master's degree in Elementary Education and have taken leadership classes also.

The things I enjoy most about teaching are building positive relationships with my students and pushing them to strive to be their best. I want all of my students to understand that productive struggle is essential for learning and growth. As a male in elementary school, I am able to be a role model for students and have a positive influence on their lives. In a word...that's AWESOME!

My hobbies include boating, golf, ATV riding, reading and playing with my kids at the beach. I have a wonderful wife Wendi and am blessed with three incredible children Nathan, Olivia and Joshua. Life is good!

I think what makes Rolesville Elementary a great place to learn is the students! I see the students' smiles, hugs, and high-fives every day, in all grade levels. Teachers are important, no doubt. But the students' impact on the learning environment is immeasurable.

I chose to work at Rolesville Elementary for a couple of reasons. I wanted to work at a school that is part of the community. Rolesville Elementary is a staple in the town and gives off the small community feel. Also, I wanted to teach in an area that embraces diversity and growth. I believe Rolesville Elementary does both and is a great place to work!

I graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in Elementary Education. I have taught in Illinois and Florida.  In 2002, I moved to North Carolina and began teaching 3rd grade at RES.  I have also taught 4th and 5th grade.  In 2006 I was named Rolesville Elementary Teacher of the Year and in 2015 I was named the Wake County Math Teacher of the Year.
My husband, Rob , and I have been married for 27 years. We have a son, Luke, who will be a freshman at Broughton Magnet High School.  We also have a dog named Butters.  I grew up in River Forest, IL (just west of Chicago) and still have family there. I am a huge Bears fan and play Fantasy Football. I spend summers on the shore of Lake Michigan, North Carolina is too hot! Some of my other hobbies include needlepoint, reading, Sudoku, and playing Pokemon Go!
My mission for the 2024-2025  school year is for our class to grow and continue (or learn☺) to love learning.
