My name is Odessa W. Anderson and I am so excited to be a part of the East Garner Explorer Team as the 3-5 administrator.  I am very family oriented with a husband and two daughters.  Their names are Clif, Khouri, and McKenzie.  I was born and raised in Madison, North Carolina.  Upon graduation from Madison Mayodan High School in 1988, I attended North Carolina Agricultural State University in Greensboro, N.C. to receive my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education in 1992 and my graduate degree in Master’s of Administration in 2006.  Once I graduated from undergrad, I taught in Guilford County for 20 years as an elementary school teacher.  In 2012, we moved and I continued my career as a school teacher and intervention teacher in Wake County Public Schools.  In 2014, I decided to pursue my administration degree at East Garner Elementary as an Assistant Principal.

As an administrator, my philosophy and objective is to meet the needs of students and to assist in the personal and professional growth of each member of the East Garner staff family.  My personal belief is that all students should have high quality leaders and teachers and a rigorous curriculum to promote and engage critical thinking and learning skills to prepare students for success.  I believe my motivation, leadership, data analysis, instructional ingenuity, diversity of thought, and collaborative persona will scaffold student achievement.  Lastly, I’m so excited to contribute and together we will SOAR to excellence.
