Welcome to my autobiographical blurb!  I began teaching in San Antonio, Texas, where I taught 2nd grade for 3 years before moving to North Carolina.  In NC, I taught 3rd grade for 2 years and then was a reading specialist/intervention teacher for 15 years and a literacy coach for 2 years.  Now I get to take all that experience teaching reading and work with 1st graders who are at the beginning of their reading journey!  It's exciting to watch them putting the puzzle pieces together to become proficient readers.

On the personal side of things, I have 2 children.  My daughter is in high school, and my son is right here at Banks Road!  When we are at home, we love to hang out with our dog Sadie and our cat Luna, and when I'm by myself, I enjoy reading, singing, eating out at local restaurants, and spending time with friends.
