    Course Sequencing for Social Studies

    For students who enter high school as Freshmen beginning in 2020, North Carolina high school students are required to take World History, Civics Literacy, American History, and Economics and Personal Finance, either regular or honors, to meet the graduation requirements.  This does not include any Social Studies electives. Here is the WCPSS Course Sequencing document. The following social studies electives are available for students:

    Magnet Theme Integration:

    Connecting Global Health Initiatives and Medical Science through history is an essential piece of the magnet theme. Classes cover differences in living standards, elections, policy implementation, the evolution of medicine, and city structure as they connect to the magnet theme. Books and articles discussed also directly related to global health initiatives of past and present.
