Course descriptions and registration information

Foreign Language is NOT required to graduate from HIGH SCHOOL, but most universities and colleges require level 1 and level 2 of the same language for admission. Some like to see level 3 and beyond.

Students who have passed the 8th grade French or Spanish WCPSS EOC/Exit Exam should sign up for level 2.

All other students should sign up for Level I.

It is strongly recommended that students begin a foreign language in their Sophomore year. However, students who have strong language skills and have done well in math courses may want to consider taking one of the language courses.

Students who are coming to ADMHS from outside of WCPSS and feel they need to be placed in a particular level should contact Barbara Duvall at bduvall@wcpss.net to discuss a placement test.

-LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 should be taken back to back.

Magnet Theme Integration:

Latin, Spanish, French, and American Sign Language incorporate medical language into specific units as students learn international connections and discover other cultures. Students also read articles pertaining to different countries and learn about how global health initiatives in America correspond to efforts in other areas.
