Mrs. Howerton is honored to serve Barton Pond as the Assistant Principal.  Prior to joining Barton Pond's staff, Mrs. Howerton served in intern and interim AP roles at West Millbrook Middle School & Lynn Road Elementary School. Prior to entering school leadership, she worked as a classroom teacher and intervention teacher at Brier Creek Elementary. Mrs. Howerton started her career in Durham Public Schools where she taught 3rd and 4th grade. Mrs. Howerton is excited to lean on her experiences to help build Barton Pond Elementary into a place of community, growth, and collaboration where students feel valued every day!
