Mrs. Jayme Whitehead, Assistant Principal

Jayme Whitehead Assistant Principal, Main Campus | jpwhitehead@wcpss.net

I am a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University (Eagle Pride!) with a degree in Education and a concentration in literacy. I spent seven
wonderful years teaching before becoming a remote learning coordinator. Currently, I am a Principal Fellow at North Carolina State University (Go Pack!), where I am continuing my growth as an educational leader.

I am passionate about building relationships and forming bonds that foster both personal and educational growth for our students. I believe in the power of empathy, kindness, and compassion and strive to embody these values daily. As a dedicated servant leader, I want students to understand that with hard work, their goals can become a reality.

As a former Wake County student myself, I deeply understand the unique challenges our students face. I aim to be the supportive adult I wished for in middle and high school by helping students overcome obstacles through realistic problem-solving and encouragement. My goal is to empower each student to reach their highest potential.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my three children: Jordyn (16), Cameron (11), and Eddison (4). We love laughing, cooking, and enjoying life together. I am honored to join the Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy community and am excited to work alongside you to support your child's success. I believe that strong partnerships between educators and families are vital in ensuring that every student thrives. Please know that I am always one conversation away if you have any questions, or concerns, or just want to chat.

I look forward to meeting you and building a wonderful year together.
