I am so excited to begin my sixth year teaching 4th grade math here at Baileywick Elementary School. This is my third year as a Baileywick Bulldog! WOOF! Previously, I taught 4th grade at Woodglen Elementary in Thornton, CO, a suburb north of Denver, and 4th grade at New Hope Elementary in Hillsborough, NC. I’ve also worked as a preschool teacher, a YMCA summer school assistant teacher, a daycare teacher, and a nanny. While teaching, I also worked as a coach for Girls on the Run. 

I love learning almost as much as I love teaching! In 2019, I graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and with Endorsements in Reading and Talented and Gifted Education. In 2022, I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters of Education in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis on Student Learning and Well-Being. 

Personally, I grew up in Boulder, CO and moved to Raleigh, NC three years ago. I live near Downtown Raleigh with my two beagles, Eleanor and Lucy. When I am not teaching, I like to listen to music, read, and run! I also love to go to concerts, go camping and to the beach. My hope this year is to cultivate a safe environment where students can reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. My dream is to work with students to create a classroom that is built on a foundation of joyful learning, kindness, and community.
