Hello and welcome to 4th grade! I am so excited to get to know you and to embark on this adventure together. I grew up in New York and have been living in North Carolina for nearly a decade. My husband and I love it here! We have two daughters who are still very little. Their names are Remi and Abbey. We also have a dog named Egg and two cats. When I’m not teaching, I am probably reading, hiking, or believe it or not, playing video games!

OCE is one of the most welcoming places I have ever walked into, and I cannot wait to welcome your student to 4^th grade! I graduated from NC State with a degree in Elementary Education and also earned a horticultural certificate. I live in Cary with my husband, Ryan, our golden retriever named June, and our Siberian cat named Albus (Dumbledore!). Outside of school, I love to read books, spend time with my church family, travel, garden, and be outside!  I consider it the greatest honor to be your child's teacher and can't wait to grow together over the year!

Hello and welcome to 4th grade! I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a focus in social studies at Appalachian State University and my master’s degree from UNC Greensboro in mathematics. I recently married my husband, and we live in Holly Springs. In my free time I enjoy reading, hiking, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

I am Danielle Chaffee! This year marks my 20th year of teaching and I am very excited to teach 4th grade this year. I will be teaching math, science and social studies this year. I moved here from Colorado 8 years ago. When I am not teaching I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, rock climbing, boating and any outdoor activity. My husband and I have 4 grown children Connor, Brayden, Cameron and Allison. We have 2 dogs, Charleen and Boone. They keep us quite busy. I am looking forward to a fun year learning about math, science, and social studies with all of you.

My name is Shannon Garrison and I am thrilled to be joining the Olive Chapel Elementary family this school year!  I've taught for 18 years in WCPSS at a traditional school and am excited for the new year-round schedule change.  I am a true Carolina girl and have lived in NC my whole life. I graduated from Appalachian State and NC State.  I live in Holly Springs and have a sweet dog named Charlie who is 1 year old.  I love to be outside, hanging out at a lake or beach, walking my dog or spending time with family and friends.  I enjoy reading, shopping and I love fashion! I'm looking forward to a great school year together in 4^th grade.

I am honored to be your homeroom teacher. I will also be teaching English Language Arts, partnering with Mr. Brown, who will be teaching Math & Science. This year is going to be full of fun and lots of learning! I look forward to working together to help 4th graders master all of the skills needed to be successful this year and in the future! I have been teaching for 18 years. This is my 1st year at Olive Chapel Elementary. Previously, I taught 1st, 4th, and 5th for the last 10 years. I have a Master’s Degree in Literacy from UNCG and have been Nationally Board Certified since 2015.

Outside of school, I live on the northeast side of Raleigh with a roommate who is in dental hygiene school. I visit my parents and my sister’s family often, who live in Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. I enjoy yoga, running, & coffee! I have visited over 14 countries, but have yet to step foot on the continents of Africa or Antarctica. I hope to see wild penguins one day; they are my favorite animal! I have been vegetarian for about 15 years and I love trying tasty new foods from different cultures. This year is going to be fantastic! I can’t wait to meet you all!
