Hi! My name is Courtney Maready. I am a North Carolina native, mom of a 7-year-old boy, Adrian and dog mom of a 5-year-old Beagle, Parker. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking and camping and anything that involves water, especially the ocean, with my family and close friends. I reside in Apex and am so excited to be starting my journey here at Olive Chapel. I have been in education for close to a decade. I graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Birth-6th grade education. I taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades before making a change over to CCR. I can truly say this is where my heart lies. As a classroom teacher, I always looked for innovative ways to support my students that needed a different approach to learning. I am passionate about supporting all students and helping them become not just stronger learners but also better citizens of our world.

Ms. Norman

Curriculum Resource Teacher, Track 3

eMail: jnorman@wcpss.net

My name is Jalyce Norman and I grew up right here in the peak of good living! I attended Olive Chapel as a student and I’m so excited to be back as a staff member!  After graduating from Panther Creek High School, I went to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology.  I like to be out seeing sights, taking walks, enjoying nature, the occasional shopping trip, and spending time with my family and friends when possible.  Olive Chapel has always felt like a second family, and with my mom working in the front office, it couldn’t be truer. I have always known this school was one-of-a-kind and it’s amazing to have this vantage point and see how encouraging and dedicated the staff is to their students and each other.

Ms. Kriegel

ECS 1 Teacher

eMail: mkriegel@wcpss.net

My name is Ms. Maria and I am the ECS 1 teacher at Olive Chapel! Each year my goal is to make the school days filled with learning, laughter, and love! I grew up in central Illinois and graduated from Illinois State University. I settled in North Carolina in 2012 - and have considered this my home ever since. I live with my sweet dog, Becca. My immediate family lives in Chicago. I have two brothers, who are both happily married. I recently became an aunt to my sweet nephew, Noah. In my free time, I LOVE spending time outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, concerts, and sharing quality time with family and friends. I enjoy lifting weights and yoga. I started paddleboarding this year and it is so much fun! I would like to teach my dog to sit on my board so she can join me on adventures at the lake.
