My name is Melissa Bachman and this is my thirteenth year of teaching. I am so excited to be a part of Oakview Elementary this year!

My husband and I met at Penn State and moved to Fairfax County, VA, where I taught 3^rd grade gifted education for three years. Shortly after, we moved to North Carolina in 2014 with our dog, a 10 year old lab mix. I began to pursue my Master’s degree from NC State and moved to fifth grade. I fell in love with this age group and have pursued it ever since. My past two years have been spent in AIG before moving to Oakview!

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family. Our two kids are very active so we enjoy being outside and are starting to travel again.
