  • Description

The goal of the French Honor Society is to stimulate interest in the study of French, to promote high standards of scholarship, to reward scholastic achievements, to create enthusiasm for and an understanding of francophone culture civilization, to promote and perpetuate international friendship, and to reward efforts toward furthering solidarity in the French-speaking world.

    Requirements

Membership is restricted to those students actively engaged in the study of French in a secondary school. Members must be enrolled in or have completed French III. Once accepted, members must maintain an A in their French courses and a B average in all other academic courses. 10 hours of annual community service are also required to remain in good standing.

    Procedure for Joining

Applications are distributed in French 3, 4, AP, and IB classes in September. Once accepted, members must pay $30 dues which cover enrollment in the national SHF database, a personalized certificate, graduation pin and cords, and yearly events.
