September 9: Senior Parent Information Session
Description: Counselors provided information to senior parents related to finding post-graduation options, exploring colleges, etc.

September 15: Getting Involved in Clubs
Target Audience: New Families to AFHS (all are welcome)
Description: When students are new to a school, there are many new dynamics to learn and adjust to in order to find a great school environment. Part of that is knowing how to access clubs and student activities. This session was geared toward parents / families of new students to provide them with enough information to support their students in finding positive, meaningful connections with student activities and clubs.

September 24, 2025: CCP Information Night
Target Audience: All Families
Description: Career & College Promise (CCP) is a program where fully enrolled high school students in North Carolina can engage in courses at their community college at no cost other than books, etc. The presenter will talk about eligibility requirements for CCP, how it works for students at AFHS, and next steps for interested families.
Format: The session will be at 6pm in the AFHS auditorium on September 24.

October 8, 2025: Financial Aid Night
Target Audience: Senior Families (all are welcome)
Description: Our Financial Aid Advisor, Ms. Brannan, will share details about financial aid options for families applying for college. She will also review the FAFSA - the federal financial aid form.
Format: The session will be at 6pm in the AFHS Auditorium on October 8.
