Our Themes

  • About our Programs

The Gifted and Talented (GT) Theme includes some of the district's oldest and most popular programs. It is rooted in the belief that every student has gifts and talents to be valued and nurtured. To that end, students in the GT pathway explore a wide variety of subjects through core subjects and an extensive menu of elective courses that develop strengths and interests. Students have the opportunity to customize their academic programs by choosing elective courses according to their academic needs and interests. Check out our elective course guide for a list of our elective classes!

Students in the AIG (Academically & Intellectually Gifted) Basics Theme are grouped with other AIG identified students for core classes according to their individual qualifications. AIG groupings in core classes account for 50% of the class roster. Students with ELA identifications are grouped for both Language Arts and Social Studies core classes. Students with Math identifications are grouped for both Math and Science core classes. Students receive AIG instruction and differentiation in all classes. Our AIG specialists push in to classes to support the AIG students. They also plan weekly with teachers to create lessons, assignments, and assessments for the AIG students.
