    Good afternoon, Forest Pines Families,

    I hope your week has been productive! Please take a moment to review the announcements for this week. Thank you for all that you do to support our school. Have a wonderful weekend!

    Congratulations to our new Forest Pines Drive Teacher of the Year!

    We are grateful for all of her hard work and dedication to shaping young minds at our school. 

     

    Updates for this Week:

     

    • Reminder-Strawbridge Picture Information–Fall retake photos will be taken on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

     

    • Please click on this link to sign up for updates and to read about picture package options. Student Illness–The weather is definitely changing to cooler temperatures. As we see the seasons change, please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school community healthy and ensuring that all students are ready to learn each day.  If your child is not well, please follow the guidelines below or click this link:

    • Reporting Student Absences–Please report all student absences to attendance417@wcpss.net.

    • Resources for Families– We understand that temporary pauses or limits to certain benefits such as food assistance may soon be impacting our families. Our school currently has nonperishable items available for families thanks to the donations collected at Trunk or Treat as well as the Backpack Buddy program. If your family is experiencing any challenges accessing food at this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our school social worker, Miriam Hill, for support and information at 919-306-5733 or mhill5@wcpss.net. Community resources can be found at wake.gov/findfood.

     

    • PBIS Celebration for November–PBIS Celebration for November–We have not yet determined how we are going to treat the students in the month of November for meeting expectations. However, we did want to share with parents and students the criteria to attend the celebrations on Friday, November 21. Students must do the following from November 3-20:

      • No major/office referrals

      • All classwork must be completed

      • Meeting expectations in the cafeteria

      • Meeting expectations in Specials classes

     

    • Upcoming Teacher Workdays and Holidays–

      • Schools will be closed from November 26-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

      • Schools will be closed from December 22-January 2 for the winter break. 

     

    • Positivity Project–Next week, students will be learning about Gratitude. Families can learn more here. 

     

    • Title I Moment for November– Did You Know? Title I was created in 1965 as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to make sure every child, no matter their background, has access to a high-quality education.

    Park Playdate

    Come join us tomorrow (Friday, 11/14) at Forest Ridge Park from 4-5:45 pm. Snacks will be first come, first served. 

     

    BOOK FAIR

    Our Scholastic Book Fair will be from December 1st - December 4th. 

    On December 2nd we will open up the Book Fair to all fox families for Literacy Night, which will take place from 5:30-7 pm.

    We will need volunteers for Book Fair and will be sending out a sign up genius soon. Keep an eye out if you’d like to volunteer!

     

    Spirit Night

    Our next Spirit Night is December 10th at Chipotle (off of Retail Dr. in Wake Forest) from 4-8 pm. A flyer will go out closer to the date. 

     

    5th Grade Committee

    We are looking for 5th grade parents/caretakers that would like to help volunteer, plan, and be a part of the 5th grade committee. This includes helping with graduation and celebrations, t-shirt tie dye, and fundraising! Please email us at forestpinespta@gmail.com if you are interested.

    • Celebración PBIS de noviembre – Celebración PBIS de noviembre –Aún no hemos decidido cómo se tratará a los alumnos durante el mes de noviembre por cumplir con las expectativas. Sin embargo, queríamos compartir con padres y alumnos los requisitos para asistir a las celebraciones del viernes 21 de noviembre. Los alumnos deben cumplir con lo siguiente del 3 al 20 de noviembre:

      • No se permiten derivaciones a oficinas/empresas importantes

      • Todas las tareas de clase deben completarse.

      • Satisfacer las expectativas en la cafetería

      • Cumplir con las expectativas en las clases especiales

     

    • Próximos días laborables y festivos para docentes –

      • Las escuelas permanecerán cerradas del 26 al 28 de noviembre con motivo del Día de Acción de Gracias.

      • Las escuelas permanecerán cerradas del 22 de diciembre al 2 de enero por las vacaciones de invierno.

     

    • Proyecto de positividad –La próxima semana, los estudiantes aprenderán sobreGratitud. Las familias pueden obtener más informaciónaquí.

     

    • Momento del Título I para noviembre –¿Sabías que...? El Título I se creó en 1965 como parte de la Ley de Educación Primaria y Secundaria para garantizar que todos los niños, independientemente de su origen, tengan acceso a una educación de alta calidad.

    FERIA DEL LIBRO

    Nuestra Feria del Libro de Scholastic tendrá lugar del 1 al 4 de diciembre.

    El 2 de diciembre abriremos la Feria del Libro a todas las familias Fox para la Noche de la Alfabetización, que tendrá lugar de 17:30 a 19:00 horas.

    Necesitaremos voluntarios para la Feria del Libro y pronto enviaremos un formulario de inscripción. ¡Estate atento si te interesa colaborar!

     

    Noche de espíritus

    Nuestra próxima Noche del Espíritu será el 10 de diciembre en Chipotle (en Retail Dr., Wake Forest) de 4 a 8 pm. Se enviará un folleto más cerca de la fecha.

     

    Comité de 5.º grado

    Buscamos padres/tutores de alumnos de quinto grado que quieran colaborar como voluntarios, planificar y formar parte del comité de quinto grado. Esto incluye ayudar con la graduación y las celebraciones, teñir camisetas y recaudar fondos. Por favor, envíenos un correo electrónico aforestpinespta@gmail.comSi te interesa.
