Things to Know for Fall 2021 Virtual Academy

Please make sure you have SELF-ENROLLED in the Virtual Academy Homeroom Course in Canvas: https://wcpss.instructure.com/enroll/GB4MKE

• All Virtual Academy students should complete Virtual Academy Student Orientation on Monday, August 23
• Please make sure you complete the Virtual Academy Parent Orientation
  • Students will receive a link to the Virtual Academy Student Orientation from their teachers

• Look for a welcome letter from your child’s Virtual Academy teacher that includes:
  • A teacher introduction (your child may have a Rolesville High School teacher, a teacher from another WCPSS school, or an NCVPS teacher)
  • Information about accessing Canvas
    • Students can access Canvas by logging into their WakeID accounts (https://wakeid.wcpss.net/ ). Once logged in to WakeID, students should click on the Canvas app (blue circular icon). Students will click on the icon for the course located on the Dashboard
      • Watch a video with step by step instructions for logging into Canvas
      • Students who do not know their log in information for WakeID can ask any teacher to get it reset
  • Information about live meeting times for each class (these may have to be adjusted slightly based on the class times at each teacher’s base school)
  • A supply list
  • Contact information 
  • Due to some delays and transitions in VA class assignments, it is possible that your child's class may not start until Tuesday, Aug 24

• Materials pick up
  • If there are materials for you to pick up, they will be distributed at your child’s base school.
  • Rolesville High School does not have any materials to distribute at this time. We will communicate with you if/when we have materials for pick up.
