Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Carlile
I was born and raised right here in Raleigh! After graduating from Enloe High School, I went on to Appalachian State University to get my degree in Elementary Education. After graduating I came back home and taught 3rd grade at Cedar Fork Elementary in Morrisville. After teaching for a year I decided to spread my wings and moved all the way Seoul, South Korea to teach English. Moving to South Korea gave me the chance to see and experience many different parts of the world. It also fed into my love of travel. After returning home once again, I found myself teaching at Cedar Fork for another 9 years. After that, the winds of change found me again and I landed here at Yates Mill. I am starting my 8th year at Yates Mill and my 18th year teaching in Wake County.
When I’m not at school, I love to relax by spending time with my family. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years and we have 3 beautiful daughters. My oldest, Alleya, will also be in 5th grade this year. Ayda is 5 and is very excited about coming to ‘big girl’ school this year at YMES! My youngest, Amelia, is 3 years old and tries her best to drive her big sisters crazy on a daily basis. My husband does his best surrounded by all these ladies.
I have a true passion for teaching and love working with kids. I love teaching first grade because of the amazing growth the students go through during the year. Not only do I love seeing the academic growth, but their social growth is tremendous too. I am so excited about starting this new adventure with your child!
