I am Emily Golden and I am the Title I Pre-K teacher here at Yates Mill Elementary. I have been a teacher in Wake County for 7 years, but this is my 16th year as a teacher. All of my experience has been in Pre-K, and I love getting to be a child’s first teacher in school. My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Education and my masters is in Reading. I have a passion for early literacy!
I am the mom to two amazing daughters. My oldest daughter is 12 and my youngest is 8. I enjoy spending time traveling and seeing the world with my husband and girls. I also love to read, and spend time at the beach. I was born and raised in West Virginia, and the mountains will always be in my heart! I bleed blue and gold, however I have loved living in North Carolina and now consider this my home away from home!
I knew I wanted to be a teacher from the time I was in third grade, and feel lucky to do this job! I believe in building great relationships with my students, and in turn preparing them for the rest of their time in school. I’m so thankful for the time I get to spend with the youngest learners in our building!
