• Senior Year

    Senior Handbook

    • Be in school every day!  Keep unnecessary absences to a minimum and always bring a note the day you return to school.  Excessive absences can lead to a loss of school privileges.
    • Seniors are eligible to obtain a parking pass and an off-campus lunch permit.  Forms for these are available in mid-August and the schedule for obtaining these will be posted on the Middle Creek Website.
    • Senior Tux and Drape pictures will be taken by Lifetouch/Prestige, usually in August before school starts.  Parents will receive information mailed home about this in the summer. Appointments are scheduled by the student/parent directly with the company.
    • Attend Senior Information Night in September.  Information will be given about graduation, ordering cap and gown, announcements, and planning for applying to post-secondary options.
    • Pay your senior dues.  Only students who pay these can attend prom, senior activities, and graduation.
    • Senior Meetings will be held during September.  These group meetings will give students specific instructions about how to manage the college application process.  Parents can schedule individual meetings with parents if they have additional questions.
    • All SAT/ACT testing should be completed by the end of October if possible in order to meet college application deadlines.
    • Students will be able to complete their college applications during September/October/November of senior year.  Make sure to pay close attention to deadlines!
    • Senior year is the time to apply for scholarships.  Check out the MCHS' Scholarship Opportunities or speak with a counselor about scholarship resources.  Be sure to report all academic and athletic scholarships to Student Services.
    • Students who wish to enter the military can take the ASVAB.  This test is given each fall and spring by the Career Development Coordinator.  The CDC can also help connect students with military recruiters.
    • In October, all seniors should order their cap and gown as well as any other graduation items from Jostens.
    • Attend Financial Aid Night in October to learn more about the process for applying for financial aid.
    • Mid-Year Graduation will occur in January for seniors who choose to graduate early.
    • In February, seniors who have taken AP courses will sign up to take AP tests for the courses they would like.  Instructions for registration will be sent home at this time.  AP Exams are given in May of each year.
    • Seniors will complete the Senior Survey in May and indicate their plans for after high school.  This list will be used to send final transcripts to colleges at the end of June.
    • Senior Awards Night is held in May.  Seniors who are receiving an award that evening will receive an invitation in the mail.
    • Graduation is held in June.  The date and location of graduation and rehearsal will be announced at the beginning of the year.  Attendance at graduation rehearsal is mandatory for seniors to participate in the ceremony.
