Understanding End-of-Grade/End-of-Course Testing Results
-
After your child takes the North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG), End-of-Course (EOC), or NCEXTEND1 tests, you will receive an Individual Student Report (ISR). This report shows how your child performed.
How do I get my child’s test results?
-
Families with students in grades 6–13 can see results in the Campus Parent in Infinite Campus.
-
Families with students in grades 3–5 will receive results by mail.
What do the scores mean?
These test scores are only one way to understand your child’s progress. Teachers also use other information, like classwork and observations.
What do the tests measure?
-
EOG Tests: All students in grades 3–8 take reading and math tests. Students in grades 5 and 8 also take a science test.
-
EOC Tests: High school students complete tests in English II, NC Math I, NC Math 3, and Biology.
How will the report look?
The ISR includes:
-
Achievement Level
For EOGs and EOCs: Not Proficient, 3, 4, or 5
For NCEXTEND1: Not Proficient, 3, or 4 -
Scale Score
A number showing overall performance. -
Percentile Rank

Lexile and Quantile Scores

What are Lexile scores?
A Lexile score shows the reading level your child can handle comfortably. Many books list their Lexile level on the back cover. Use this score to help your child find books that are just right—not too easy or too hard. Reading over the summer helps build skills and confidence.
