Chief of Schools
Jackie Ellis | jbellis@wcpss.net
Jackie Ellis was named Chief of Schools in 2018. Prior to returning to the Wake County Public School System, she served as the assistant superintendent of Middle School Teaching, Learning, and Leadership in Durham Public Schools. In addition, Ms. Ellis held positions of assistant superintendent for Human Resources, western area superintendent and the middle school director in the Wake County Public School System and an assistant superintendent of Human Resources in Durham Public Schools, and a middle and high school principal in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. Jackie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in middle grades education at East Carolina University and a Master of School Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. -
Chief Technology Officer
Shashikanth "Shashi" Buddula | sbuddula@wcpss.netShashi Buddula was appointed Chief Technology Officer in August 2023. Buddula brings with him over two decades of experience working in the K12 industry. Before joining our team, Buddula served as a Vice President for a Business intelligence organization overseeing global product delivery operations. He also held several leadership positions in Baltimore City Schools, Maryland, including Chief Information Technology Officer. During his tenure at Baltimore City Public Schools, Buddula played a pivotal role in the successful launches of new software systems, numerous technical and infrastructure upgrades, and the development of protocols and processes to ensure the security of student and staff data in the face of increased cybersecurity threats. Buddula earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, along with several professional certifications.

Chief Communications Officer
Lisa Luten | lluten@wcpss.netLuten has served as Director and Senior Director of our Communications team since 2012. She has had a major impact on our district’s online presence, leading efforts to revamp and enhance our public-facing website, our social media accounts, and our intranet site. Luten also has served as spokesperson and public information officer with local, state and national media, and she has directed a range of web, branding and print campaigns to support the district’s strategic plan. Luten brings more than 15 years of experience as a strategic communications professional focused on public education. Prior to joining WCPSS, Luten worked as a marketing manager for the Participate (then known as VIF) international teacher program. She is a graduate of Leesville Road High School and has a bachelor of arts degree in English from N.C. State University. Despite that degree, she can often be found cheering on the Blue Devils.

Chief of Academic Advancement
Dr. Stacey Wilson-Norman | swilsonnorman@wcpss.netDr. Stacey Wilson-Norman was appointed Chief of Academic Advancement in March 2023. She previously served as Chief Academic Officer for Cumberland County Schools for five years, and as Chief Academic Officer for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for one year. Before that, she served in numerous leadership roles in Durham Public Schools for a number of years, advancing from principal to Deputy Superintendent. Dr. Wilson-Norman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, both from North Carolina Central University. She holds a Doctorate from Gardner-Webb University.

Chief Business Officer
David Neter - MBA, CPA | dneter@wcpss.net
David Neter served as the associate dean for finance and administration for the School of Social Work at UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to that he was the Vice President and General Manager of two Companion Technologies subsidiaries of Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, and held similar positions with Dataflow Companies, Inc. of Durham. He earned his MBA in 1992. -
Chief of Staff and Strategic Planning
Dr. Clint Robinson | crobinson3@wcpss.net
A veteran of the United State Air Force, Robinson began his career in education as a mathematician for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, teaching children of military and non-military families in Okinawa, Japan and Kaiserslautern, Germany. In addition, Robinson served as an assistant principal and an accomplished turnaround principal in Cumberland County Schools. Robinson joined the Wake County Public Schools System as the principal of Wake Forest-Rolesville High Schools and served as the Southwestern Area Superintendent and Southern Area Superintendent. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Delaware State University; a Master of Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma; and a Doctorate in Education from Fayetteville State University. -
Chief of Facilities and Operations
Mark Strickland | mrstrickland@wcpss.net
Prior to moving to our district, Strickland served as the Assistant Superintendent of Administration and Operations in Union County Public Schools. In this role, he supervised district operations for the Facilities, Child Nutrition and Transportation departments as well as Athletics and After School Programs. He also has held several positions with Nash-Rocky Mount Schools including Special Assistant for Auxiliary Services, Executive Director of Operations and Director of Facility Planning. He also has experience working on capital bond construction programs with our district as well as New Hanover County Schools and Nash-Rocky Mount Schools. He is the former president of North Carolina Educational Facility Planners and was successful in the implementation of an energy conservation program which led to substantial savings for his Nash-Rocky Mount Schools. Strickland is a graduate of N.C. State University. He and his wife Cheri have three children.
