If you have concerns, you can share the summary with your child’s doctor or another provider.

Talk with an Early Childhood professional

You can speak with an early childhood professional who will:

• Answer your questions.
• Help you understand how your child is doing.
• Recommend helpful programs, activities, and services.

This is called a developmental screening. It is a short, easy process for Wake County families with children ages 3, 4, or 5 who are not in kindergarten.

Preschool Child Find

If you think your child may have a disability and needs special education support, Preschool Child Find can:

• Check your child’s development at no cost.
• Offer services for children who qualify.

This program is for children ages 3–5 who are not yet old enough for kindergarten.
