  • #GeekWeek 2018 WAS a SUCCESS!!

    Check out an interview from WCPSS with two our our Library Media Interns.  Highlights from the week included Computer Science activities led by LMS students in over 75 high school classes, the entire 4th grade at Wendell ES, and the entire 8th grade at East Wake MS; the sphero playground; the Geek Slam with local computer science pros; and tons of fun daily stuff like coding death matches, a STEM ugly sweater, and many Hour of Code events.

    Monday: Schoolwide Kahoot 2nd period after announcements


    Tuesday: Participate in an Hour of Code event in your classroom! Take 15 minutes and check out one of these simple activities.  Tweet out #GeekWeek and #HourofCode if you participate.

    Wednesday: Sphero/Dash Playground in the LC during ALL of 3rd period

    Are you curious about our little robots? Come to the LC and race them, do some sumo Sphero, make them dance, and learn a little computer science in the process.


    Thursday: The LMS students will be visiting EWMS and Wendell ES to spread the #GeekWeek joy, so the LC will be closed 2nd and 3rd periods.


    Friday: Come check out our #Geek$lam and career fair in the LC from 11:15-12:15.  You can chat with professionals in the CS field after a high-engergy poetry slam-style Geek Slam.
