• College and Career Ready Graduate (CCRG)

    Health Sciences student

The College and Career Ready Graduate (CCRG) program provides high school students with the opportunity to make the transition from high school to post-secondary learning at the community college smoother and easier. Students will be able to satisfy English and Math requirements for college while still in high school at no cost to the student or family.

The General Assembly passed legislation requiring the NC Community College System to implement CCRG in partnership with the State Board of Education. This program provides instruction in foundational skills for mathematics and English that are critical for success in college courses. With the opportunity to meet this requirement in high school, students can be more prepared to be successful in community college courses.

    Who should participate?

A student’s unweighted grade point average (GPA) will be critical in determining whether a student needs to participate in this opportunity. Below are options for exempting a student from the CCRG requirement as well as the co-requisite courses at North Carolina community colleges. The student's high school counselor can outline additional scenarios for exemption.

    CCRG English Requirement

    • Unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher
    • ACT English Score of 18 or higher
    • ACT Reading Score of 22 or higher
    • SAT English Score of 480 or higher
    • AP Eng. Language or Literature Score of 3 or higher
    • IB English A (Standard or Higher Level) Score of 4 or higher

    CCRG Math Requirement
