I am Heather Piezer and I am so excited to start a new school year as a school counselor at Apex Elementary! I received my undergraduate degree from Butler University in elementary education with an endorsement in middle school science. I also received my master's from Butler in school counseling. Go Dawgs! I taught middle school science for 6+ years in Indiana and was a school counselor for 1.5 years in North Carolina before starting my family. I stayed home with my children for 10 years (currently 19 year old son, 17 year old daughter) while teaching preschool part-time. I returned to teaching and began my 10th year at Laurel Park Elementary teaching 2nd and then 5th grade.

In my free time, I love exercising, hanging out at the pool or the beach, watching musicals, and traveling. I look forward to my family dinner every Sunday while we eat sushi and catch up from our week. I cherish my family and friends and am so grateful for them. I am so thankful to join Apex Elementary! I can’t wait to meet you all!
