Phelan Perry, Principal

With over 25 years of experience in education, Phelan Perry began his journey as a principal in 2018. Before that, he served as an assistant principal in WCPSS for ten years, a science teacher for ten years, and spent a year as a teacher’s assistant. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Pre-Med, from Elizabeth City State University, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration and Leadership from North Carolina State University.A native of Elizabeth City, NC, Mr. Perry proudly follows in the footsteps of his mother, who was also an educator. He is a devoted family man with two sons and a wife, who is also a school administrator. In his free time, Mr. Perry enjoys spending time with family and friends, tackling projects around the house, cooking on the grill, and listening to old-school music. He strongly believes that building positive relationships with students is essential to their success. -
Chloe Brondyke, Assistant Principal

Ms. Brondyke is in her 3rd year as an assistant principal at Rolesville High School. She attended High Point University for her Bachelor's Degree and her Master's Degree in special education adapted curriculum. Ms. Brondyke attended the University of North Carolina Greensboro for her PMC in school administration. At RHS, Ms. Brondyke is one of the assistant principals over the Freshmen Academy and supervises Freshman with last names A-K. Ms. Brondyke also has supervision over testing and Social Studies. When Ms. Brondyke is not working, she enjoys spending time gardening, hiking, camping and playing with her children and her dogs. My name is Jessica Chambliss, and it brings me great pleasure to be an Assistant Principal at Rolesville High School. I'm a graduate of WCPSS, and then continued my education at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, graduating with my bachelor's in history and my Masters in Secondary History Education. While I was teaching at Wakefield High School, I wanted to have a larger impact with students, so I went back to school and became an administrator.Students are my why, and it is my mission to ensure every student is able to be heard and has an equitable educational experience. I have the pleasure to be oversee Science, World Languages/ESL, Clubs, Equity, and School Improvement.I enjoy spending time with my family, and vacationing!GO RAMS!!!!! -

Dr. Garland graduated from NC State a multitude of times including his most recent Doctoral degree. He grew up mainly in Raleigh, also spending several years in Florida and England. He is married to Katie and they have an eleven year old son, Theo.

Jarrett Marlin, Assistant Principal

Mr. Marlin was originally born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the age of 12 years old he moved to Memphis, Tennessee. His senior of high school he would move to Oxford, North Carolina where he graduated high school from J.F. Webb in 2001. After graduating high school Mr. Marlin was invited to play football at the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University where he would earn an athletic scholarship. Mr. Marlin received his bachelor's degree in professional history in May of 2006. Mr. Marlin would move to the research triangle area after graduating undergrad and begin his career in education at a grassroots level in 2007 where he was an assistant for a special education teacher in the Chapel Hill Carboro City school system at Mel and Zora Rashkis elementary school. During this experience, his love for education was ignited and after two schools years of being a teacher assistant, Mr. Marlin made the decision to attend East Carolina University to receive his K-6 license in elementary education.
In 2011 Mr. Marlin started his journey in WCPSS as a 5th grade teacher at Walnut Creek Elementary school. During this experience, his love for educating youth continued to grow and Mr. Marlin decided to obtain his master's in educational leadership from New York University. In 2013. While in New York Mr. Marlin had the awesome experience of educating elementary students at PS 54 in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and the Lower East side of Manhattan where he was a pre-k-5 teacher of science.
After completing his studies at NYU Mr. Marlin's career would lead him back to WCPSS where he would return to Walnut Creek elementary school and teach for an additional 4 school years as a 3rd 4th and 5th grade teacher. In the fall of 2018 Mr. Marlin made an in-county move to River Bend Elementary school to become a 4th grade teacher. Mr. Marlin would have the privilege of educating the youth of northeast Raleigh for an additional 2 1/2 years. In the spring of 2022 Mr. Marlin was blessed to receive the opportunity to become an interim assistant principal at Rolesville High School.
Mr. Marlin has the pleasure of working with some of the same students he taught in elementary school.
In his free time, Mr. Marlin enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and happy and healthy son Declan. Mr. Marlin also likes to follow his beloved Rolesville Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and New York Yankees.

Kelly Nilles, Assistant Principal

Ms. Nilles is the Assistant Principal for Instruction at Rolesville High School, where she is starting her ninth year. Ms. Nilles holds undergraduate degrees in Classical Civilizations and History, a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and a Master of School Administration (MSA), all from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A proud product of Wake County Public School System (WCPSS), Ms. Nilles brings a deep commitment to education and student success. Prior to her time at Rolesville HS, Ms. Nilles taught for seven years at Wakefield Middle School and served for two years as an Assistant Principal at Wakefield High School.
In her current role, Ms. Nilles oversees the Special Education department, including oversight for special transportation and the Rolesville Evening Program. She is also responsible for the Advanced Placement (AP) program and school-wide scheduling, ensuring that every student has access to a well-rounded and inclusive education. Her leadership is driven by a passion for supporting diverse learners and fostering academic excellence across the board.
Ms. Nilles is married to a WCPSS teacher, and together they have one daughter who is currently a high school student within the district. Outside of work, Ms. Nilles enjoys spending time with her family, including her two adorable dogs, who are the joy of the household.

Kate Rogers, Assistant Principal

Ms. Kate Rogers came to Wake County Schools in 2018 from Sarasota County Schools, Florida but started her teaching career in New York City in 2005. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in History and Secondary Education from The College of Staten Island, and her Masters in Middle Level Education 5-9/Special Education 5-9 from Wagner College. In 2010, obtained her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!).Ms. Rogers has over 17 years of experience teaching high school History. Throughout her years teaching, she has served on several school leadership teams and worked with the Office of Professional Development in Sarasota facilitating district wide Professional Developments on literacy strategies. Ms. Rogers has also held the role of the Intervention Coordinator in Wake County.Ms. Rogers has dedicated her time in education to ensure all students are academically successful and move on to the path they choose post high school, whether college, military, vocational school or in the work force. She is a firm believer that all students can be successful if given the chance.Ms. Rogers enjoys spending time with her two daughters and traveling. She has a passion for learning about people from all over the world and their cultures. Ms. Rogers enjoys sharing the love and appreciation for different cultures with her children and former students. In fact, she has been to 32 countries and has led 14 trips overseas with her students.She looks forward to supporting staff, students and their families strive for success. Go Rams!!
