PSAT/NMSQT Administration - Fall 2024
(last updated 8/5/2024)
The district will administer the PSAT/NMSQT during the 2024-25 school year and all high schools and middle schools with interested students will serve as testing sites. As was the case last year, schools have the flexibility to choose their administration date(s) from October 1 through October 31 and the test will be administered online.
The PSAT/NMSQT contains items with Algebra I and some Geometry concepts, so if students have not completed Math I they may be better served to take it in a future year. For your convenience, here is a link to the College Board website which outlines all of the PSAT/NMSQT important dates and deadlines. We are also providing a link to the in-school educator experience website for this fall: In-School Educator Experience – SAT Suite | College Board. This provides additional links as resources aside from just the dates/timelines.
While all high school students and some middle school students can register to take the PSAT/NMSQT, the district will only pay for 11th grade students who are likely to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. Any other students interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT can pay $15.30 to take the assessment. The district will pay for the administration of current WCPSS 11th grade students who have a GPA in the top 10% of the district (4.375 or higher). Eleventh grade students with a GPA below the cutoff who want to participate will pay the exam fee.
Students who wish to test with accommodations must have that information submitted to the College Board by August 12 for students testing in the early window.
