Hello & Mabuhay! My name is Aimee Ruthie Raymond, and I am so excited to be part of the Yates Mill Elementary School family as one of the CCR teachers. I was born and raised in the Philippines, where I also attended the University of the Philippines-Diliman and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, as well as working towards my Master’s in Psychology. I have been teaching since 2013, and I feel truly grateful to continue that journey here in North Carolina, where I’ve been living since 2019.

One of the things I love most about teaching is building supportive relationships with students, their families, and school staff. Every child has unique gifts and strengths, and it brings me so much joy to encourage their growth and celebrate their progress along the way. My goal is always to create a supportive, welcoming classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my loving husband, Nathan and our two furry companions Ari (our dog), and Toby (our cat). I enjoy traveling, camping, cooking, and making special memories with family and friends. Whether it’s trying out a new recipe, exploring a new place, or just spending a cozy evening at home, I love finding joy in the little things. I can’t wait to bring that same excitement and positivity into the classroom, and to partner with families and staff to make it a wonderful year for our students!
