Principal Message for May 11, 2026
Greetings Carroll Families,Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all our Carroll Moms. I hope every day is special for you. The following updates pertain to events for this and upcoming weeks.

May 29 - Science EOG testingThank you to our PTO for celebrating our staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. On behalf of all staff, we thank you for the treats and the cards in recognition of the hard work done daily.
We will host our 25-26 athletic banquet on May 12, 2026, at 5:30pm to celebrate all our students who participated in sports. Parents of athletes can join us on May 12.
Open house will be May 14, 2026, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Parents of rising 6th graders are encouraged to join us to learn more about academics and electives during Open House.
Please see the request for proctor letter. This year we are reaching out to parents and local businesses to partner with us to ensure we have proctors for EOGs. Please see contact information for staff in the event you are able to volunteer your time.
Thank you parents for completing the Panorama Survey, because of your efforts we were able to surpass last year’s response total. Your responses will help guide our planning process for the 26-27 school.
WCPSS-issued student Chromebooks for students in 8th grade must be turned in prior to June 10, 2026. Rising 6th & 9th grade students will be assigned devices once they transition to their perspective schools within WCPSS. If your child is leaving a WCPSS school their device must be turned in the school. All 8th grade Chromebook and chargers must be checked into Destiny Resource Manager and return to Technology Services on or before the last day of school. Please be sure to speak with your child about locating lost chargers/device and turning them into media center.
Academics
You can use this bit.ly/waag25 to track what your child is learning weekly. Encourage your child to commit to 30 minutes of study time in preparation for EOG’s Be sure to monitor your child’s assignment completion weekly. EOG released tests and NC Test are available for students access to prepare for EOGs.Schoolwide Expectations
We are appreciative of the many students who exemplify the Covey Habits and serve as excellent Carroll Scholars. As a reminder, all cellphones, headphones, and earbuds must be placed in lockers (board policy 4318). Students who fail to comply will have devices confiscated after the first warning and placed in the office for pickup at the end of the day. A second violation will require parents to pick up cellphones/device from school. All students are expected to put their cellphones in their lockers when they arrive at school, this includes earbuds, smart glasses, headphones and any communication device.School Attendance
School hours are 7am to 2:15pm. The tardy bell rings at 7:30am. Early Check out cut off 1:45pm. Parents who arrive after 1:45pm for check out will be directed to carpool for pick up.All students are expected to be in school for the full school day. It’s flu season, students who are experiencing the following symptoms should stay home using the guidance below:
- Fever of 100.4 or higher (24 hrs fever free without fever-reducing medication)
- Diarrhea (12 hrs free of symptoms)
- Nausea and Vomiting (12 hrs free of symptoms)
- Severe headache
- Red, watery eyes with yellow discharge, Undiagnosed rash
