Unparalleled Arts Program

At East Millbrook Academy of Arts and Design, creativity knows no bounds. Our arts program offers eight different visual and performing arts disciplines, allowing your child to explore and excel in their passions. With nearly 100 electives to choose from, students can dive into three exciting electives each day, fostering a love for the arts and personal growth.

We are the only school in WCPSS to offer the Guild Experience, a special 90-minute double-period arts elective. This gives our students the chance to work together closely and develop their artistic skills deeply. Outside the classroom, our students shine in the community through performances, competitions, and special trips, like the unforgettable four-day arts immersion trip to New York City, held every two years. Creativity and Design Thinking

At East Millbrook Academy of Arts and Design, we help students become creative problem-solvers with Design Thinking and our top arts program. This approach encourages kids to solve problems with empathy and creativity. They learn to identify problems, come up with ideas, make prototypes, and test their solutions. This hands-on learning makes education both fun and effective.

Combining arts and Design Thinking is great for the middle school learner. It helps them grow mentally, emotionally, and socially. Arts Plus Magnet Pathway

East Millbrook is a great middle school choice on the WCPSS Arts Plus pathway, conveniently located in North Raleigh! Our unique program combines arts integration with Design Thinking in core classes and offers a wide range of engaging creative electives. We are an excellent choice for students from Arts Plus elementary schools like Douglas, Brooks, and Wildwood Forest, but we welcome students from all across the district!
