At Lynn Road Elementary, music classes meet on a weekly basis for 45 minutes. Each class uses the North Carolina Common Core music objectives to explore, create, and experience music.  These lessons are based on active participation that use a combination of musical philosophies including First Steps in Music for Preschool and Beyond, Conversational Solfege, Kodaly, and the Orff-Schulwerk approach to teaching music.  Often you will find the integration of music, movement, speech, and drama intertwined into a lesson.  The goal is to support and nurture children's creativity while building musicianship and a sense of community.
