In our Physical Education classes here at Lynn Road we try and make good use of all the wonderful teaching mediums we have available. Shortly after our 2009 school wide renovation we won a grant giving us a brand new climbing wall. The students are allowed to traverse across the wall as far as they are able. By the end of first grade that is about 40 feet for most of our students. We also have our own outdoor 1/8 mile track, along with lots of outdoor teaching space, and wonderful amounts of new equipment. Our indoor space is very special as well. The multipurpose room floor is a wonderful laminate with a ¼ inch of padding underneath making it perfect for young students and accidental falls. We also participate in jump rope for heart each year, raising money for the American Heart Association to combat heart disease. We believe that with all of these wonderful teaching tools, combined with the wake county’s Healthful Living standard course of study, the students at Lynn Road get a well rounded guide to becoming/staying physically active and a lifetime mover.
