Ms. Suzanne Halsey

I am excited to begin my 8th year as a fourth-grade teacher at Baucom Elementary! Baucom is where two of my children attended, and it feels like a home-away-from-home to me because of the wonderful community and staff. I grew up in Cortland, NY, and received a BA in Psychology from University at Buffalo and my Master’s in Education from University of Phoenix. I began my teaching career in a combined Kindergarten/First grade class at a small private school in San Ramon, CA. After that my family relocated to Denver, CO where I taught fourth grade for two years in the Brighton 27J School District. I was blessed to spend twelve years at home with my children. During that time, I became a certified yoga teacher and have spent the past 12 years teaching kids' yoga on the weekends and in the summers. We relocated to Apex, NC in 2016, and I returned to the classroom in the spring of 2018. I have 2 daughters who attend Salem College in Winston Salem, and a son who’s in 9th grade at Apex High School. We have 2 dogs named Willow and Rocky and a cat named Eleanor Buttercup.  My heart is in Apex, and I am grateful to serve our community as a teacher at Baucom Elementary School.

Ms. Chrissy Minnick

I am from a small town in Maryland and am a huge fan of anything Maryland (go terps).  This is my 13th year teaching in North Carolina and the 10th year teaching the upper grades at Baucom.  I love spending time with my German Shepherd, Zeus, and finding all the awesome mountains to hike in the cooler seasons.  I am so thankful to continue with another great year at Baucom.  #MINNICKNATION

Ms. Alyssa Pezzella

Hi there! I am so excited to begin my fourth year teaching and my second year at Baucom teaching 4th grade. I am originally from Connecticut, where I received my Bachelors in Sociology and Masters in Teaching from Sacred Heart University. I moved to NC 4 years ago in search of an adventure and it has been such a wonderful experience living and working here. When I’m not teaching I love spending time with my boyfriend and our sweet rescue mutt Hera. I also love to read, travel and explore new restaurants and coffee shops. Looking forward to an amazing year in 4th!
