We encourage all parents and guardians to regularly check their student’s grades in Infinite Campus. Monitoring grades helps students stay on track academically. If your student needs help in any class, please make sure they sign up for academic support in a timely manner so teachers can assist them before assignments or assessments fall too far behind.

    Dress Code Reminder

As we move into the spring semester, please remind students to follow the Wakefield dress code each day. The following clothing is not permitted at school:

🚫 Bare midriffs (shirts that expose the stomach or back)
🚫 Sagging pants or clothing worn below the waist
🚫 Clothing that advertises alcohol, drugs, or other illegal products

Please review these expectations with your student to help ensure a positive and focused learning environment.

    26–27 Course Registration

Wakefield will begin registering our current 9th–11th grade students for the 2026–2027 school year starting March 9th. Counselors will meet with students in their classrooms to provide registration instructions.

Because we are using a new information system, registration will be completed on paper this year. Counselors will enter student selections into Infinite Campus.

Students will have an opportunity to review and change selections when verification forms are printed. These forms will be sent home in mid to late April.

More information can be found on the banner of the Wakefield website:

This is an important reminder about next week’s schedule. Tuesday, March 3rd is a no school day for students due to primary elections.

All 11th grade students will take the ACT on Wednesday, March 4th. Please help ensure your child is prepared by bringing a fully charged Chromebook and a valid photo ID to present to their testing administrator.

Interim grades were released this past Friday. Please review your child’s progress, and if you have any questions about a class, contact your child’s teacher directly.

If your child needs additional academic support, please use AllTimely to sign up for support during PACK Time.

As we move into warmer spring weather, please help us monitor student attire to ensure it aligns with the WCPSS dress code. Students must wear clothing that covers the chest, midriff, back, and undergarments and is not see-through. Clothing may not display profanity or offensive content or promote drugs, alcohol, tobacco, violence, or illegal activity.

We would like to inform you that Monday is no longer a Teacher Workday and will now be a regular school day for students. Please plan for students to attend school on their normal schedule.

On Monday during PACK Time, students will view an awareness video designed to:

    • Help students recognize inappropriate behavior by adults,

    • Promote healthy and safe decision-making, and

    • Encourage students to identify trusted adults who can provide support.

The video will be shown on Monday. Families who prefer their student not participate may complete the opt-out form available on the Wakefield High School website.

We are also excited to share information about our biggest fundraiser of the year — the Wake Forest Historic Half Marathon, 7K, and 4K, taking place on February 28, 2026. The FSSeries has once again named The Wakefield Schools Foundation as a beneficiary of the race proceeds.

We would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word and encouraging teachers, parents, and community members to participate. The more racers we have, the more funds we are able to raise and reinvest directly back into our schools.

If this is your first time hearing about The Wakefield Schools Foundation, we encourage you to visit their website to learn more. The Foundation is a community organization dedicated to supporting academic enrichment across all three Wakefield schools.

Thank you for helping us spread the word. We look forward to another successful and impactful race day!

    Possible School Closure

With the potential for inclement weather next week—and with Monday designated as a teacher workday—we strongly encourage parents and guardians to ensure they have access to their child’s Infinite Campus account. If school buildings are closed, paper schedules will not be provided—students must log in to Infinite Campus to view their schedules.

In addition, teachers for the spring semester will send notifications and updates via Canvas, so it is important that students check their Canvas accounts to stay informed and connected with their new teachers.

In the event the district moves to remote instruction, detailed information regarding student expectations will be shared on the school’s website and official social media platforms.

School counselors are currently finalizing student schedules, which are expected to be available after 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26.

    Parents/Guardians:
If you do not currently have access to Infinite Campus, please contact our Data Manager, Ms. Andrade, at yandrade@wcpss.net to request an access code. Parents may also obtain a Canvas Parent Observer account by emailing their child’s first-period teacher—or second-period teacher if that is the student’s first class of the day.

    Students:
Student schedules can be accessed through the WakeID Portal. After logging in, select the NCSIS (Infinite Campus) application to view your schedule. Be sure to also check Canvas regularly, as teachers will be using it to communicate important information and class updates for the start of the semester.
