Sanderson’s Students Against Hunger Food Drive – November 2025 

For over 25 years, Sanderson High School has proudly supported the Students Against Hunger Food Drive, benefiting the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC (FBCENC). This organization serves 34 counties across our state. 

Last year’s SHS Food Drive impact: $36,000 raised AND 2,103 pounds of food donated. This year’s goal: $40,000 to help provide 200,000 meals to families to support our community 

How you can help: 

• $1 = 5 meals 

• 1.2 lbs of food = 1 meal

LOOKING TO HELP A SANDERSON STUDENT IN NEED DURING THE HOLIDAYS?  

The Sanderson PTO will provide holiday assistance to Spartan families who are experiencing financial and housing difficulties through our Spartan Angel Tree Program. We are collecting monetary donations that the Sanderson High School student services team will use to purchase and distribute gift cards to these families before the holidays. You can help by donating at this link and by signing up to volunteer at the Holly Days Spartan Angel Tree table.

SET SPENDING LIMITS ON MYSCHOOLBUCKS 

Parents can set daily or weekly limits or turn off a la carte snack purchases entirely through their MySchoolBucks account. This feature gives families more control over cafeteria spending while still allowing students to purchase full meals. 

THE CREATIVE LIVES OF EDUCATORS (LIKE our very own JULIE RUSSO!)
