    EOC RETEST OPPORTUNITY

Students who score “Not Proficient” on their state assessment will have the opportunity to take the test a second time. This retest gives students another chance to demonstrate their learning and growth. For students taking EOC tests, they will also be able to improve their course grade if the score is higher on their second attempt.

While we encourage you to consider allowing your student to participate in retesting if they qualify, please know that participation in retesting is completely voluntary and requires parent/guardian permission.

A letter will be sent home with your student by June 1st. If you would like your student to have this opportunity to retest if they score “Not Proficient” on their first attempt, please return the form to the teacher by June 4th.

For your planning purposes, the retest date for the end of the school year is Friday, June 11th.

SPRING ACT SCORES WILL BE RE-ISSUED

ACT has notified schools that some students who took the ACT online during spring school-day testing will receive updated scores as part of ACT’s scoring review process. Starting May 13, affected students will temporarily no longer see their scores in their MyACT account while scores are being updated. Revised scores will be available no later than June 2.

    Important information:

    Scores will not go down.

Scores will either stay the same or increase slightly.

Students do not need to do anything.

Any colleges, universities, or scholarship programs that previously received scores through ACT will automatically receive the updated scores.

If you have questions, you may contact ACT directly at 319-337-1313.

Designed for students who have previously failed a core academic course, this program uses Edgenuity for self-paced online learning with teacher support.

    IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR RISING SENIORS

North Carolina law requires all rising 12th graders to receive a meningococcal vaccine booster before starting 12th grade. The vaccination must be completed and current immunization records updated before the 26-27 school year begins.

Families will need to provide a copy of their child’s immunization record showing proof that the meningococcal vaccine has been completed prior to the first day of school. This is a 2-dose immunization; the 1st dose was required in the 7th grade in Wake County schools. Please send your immunization updates to our registrar: palbertson@wcpss.net or Fax 919-670-4438
