    Students received paper report cards on Friday, Jan. 30 from their 2nd period teacher.

    REMOTE LEARNING ATTENDANCE REMINDER 

    Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28 were remote learning days. The deadline for students to submit assignments from both days is Wednesday, February 4. Students who do not submit assignments for those days will be marked absent, and these absences do count towards exam exemption. If you have any questions about the assignment, please contact the teacher directly.

    To help your visit go smoothly, bring your student’s schedule so you know which rooms to go to.

    CURRICULUM EXPO 

    Get excited for the 2026–2027 school year and join us for our 8th – 11th grade Curriculum Expo.

    • February 25, 2026 

    • 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM 

    This event is open to current 8th through 11th grade students and their families, including the Class of 2030, Class of 2029, Class of 2028, and Class of 2027.  

    Come explore what SHS has to offer. Learn about Rising 9th Registration, academic pathways, Honors and AP options, athletics and NCAA information, student organizations and clubs, and ways families can get connected through PTO, the SHS Foundation, and the Athletic Club Booster. You can also find out more about Wake Tech’s Career and College Promise program and how it supports students’ future goals. 

     

    REMINDER: Bag Rules for ALL WCPSS High School Events

    Spectators may be subject to bag checks.

    • clear bag (max 12" x 15" x 3") 

    • A small, clear clutch bag/wristlet (max 4" x 6" x 1") 

    • Diaper bags & medically necessary bags 

    Not allowed:

    ATTENDANCE POLICY REMINDERS 

    Arrival Check-In 
    Students arriving late or returning from appointments must check in at the attendance window with a note before going to class. 

    Early Check-Out Rules 

    • No walk-up checkouts between 1:45–2:18 PM. 

    • For planned early checkouts, students should bring a signed parent note to the attendance window between 7:00–7:25 AM. 

    • Phone calls or emails cannot be used for checkouts. 

    Absence Notes 
    Must be emailed to SHS-ATTENDANCE@WCPSS.NET within 2 days of return and include student name, ID, dates, reason, and parent contact info. 

     

    GOVERNOR’S PAGE PROGRAM

    The Governor's Page Program is now accepting applications for 2026.  It's a week-long program that includes a $200 stipend.  Applications and information can be found here. The NC House and NC Senate page programs are not yet accepting applications for 2026.

    CLASS OF ‘26 BACCALAUREATE 

    Class of ‘26 Baccalaureate will be at Trinity Baptist Church on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 4pm.   

     

    ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WALKS 

    In the spring, elementary schools will invite seniors back to walk the halls in their cap and gowns.  As we receive dates, times, etc., they will be added here.  Joyner’s is June 8 and York and North Ridge will have their walk on June 9.
