In art, students experience many ways to create their own original pieces of work. As their teacher, I strive to keep the students engaged and active in their own learning. I use the art room not only to teach my own art curriculum, but to also enhance the curriculum taught by their classroom teachers and in other specials. We frequently integrate math, reading, science, and social studies concepts into our art lessons. We explore all different types and styles of art throughout the grade levels, from three dimensional to two dimensional. The students themselves really enjoy the hands-on learning they get to participate in when they come to the art room. The artwork students create is on display throughout the school.
