Mrs. Fehling- Principal
Hi Hilburn Hawks and families!I am thrilled to be here at Hilburn Academy, helping to build a nest that will raise these incredible hawks! I have been in education since 2001 and in Wake County since 2010. My pathway has led me to many classrooms from Kindergarten through college and even some adult education courses. I have taught in New York, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Taiwan! My most recent assignment was as an assistant principal of instruction (API) at Leesville Road High School. I was there from 2016-2022. This time has allowed me to be well-versed on what my Hilburn Hawks will need to be well-prepared for their next step after leaving here. I am excited to bring this knowledge and expertise to Hilburn. On a personal note, I am married to another WCPSS employee. My husband is a teacher at SCORE Academy. We have four lively and vivacious children, three of whom are old enough to be Hilburn Hawks. We are excited to be a part of this school community and invest our time and energy in Hilburn. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you to enhance your child's educational experience here at Hilburn. -
Ms. Huntley- Assistant Principal
About: I'm very excited to be a part of the Hilburn Academy nest! I was born and raised in Raleigh and graduated from UNC-G with a degree in elementary education and a minor in dance. After graduation, I was selected as a Teach for America Corps member and began my teaching career in Charleston, SC, teaching 3rd and 4th grade. As a classroom teacher, I prioritized building relationships with students and families to help students find joy and success in school. Eventually, I felt the call to return home to be closer to family and began teaching in Wake County. During my time in the classroom, I discovered my passion for instructional leadership, personalized learning, and teacher development, which led me to pursue my Master's in School Administration at UNC (Go Heels!). As an educator in Wake County, I've worked at Rogers Lane Elementary, Hunter GT/AIG Magnet Elementary, Oberlin Magnet Middle School, and Davis Drive Middle School. I'm thrilled to be a Hilburn Hawk and to partner with this amazing community. I can't wait to see all the incredible things that happen #onthehill!

Ms. Nock- Assistant Principal Intern
About: Hello Hilburn Family! My name is Ms. Nock, Assistant Principal Intern for this coming school year. Born and raised in New Jersey, I was destined to be in education with my mom, lead secretary of the high school, and my stepfather, the principal of the school. After graduating high school, the family moved to North Carolina where I earned my bachelors and master’s degree in science education from East Carolina University. Since 2010 I have taught many science subjects, from Earth Science to AP Chemistry at Heritage High School and was honored to be the science department chair for the last six years. For twenty years, I have been proud to call North Carolina home. I love our beaches, mountains, and the Carolina Hurricanes. Outside of school, you will find me at hockey games, going out with friends, or staying at home with my incredible boyfriend and our three cats. I am very excited to grow and share my passion for education where it all begins at elementary into middle school, and being a part of this very special nest ready to soar with the Hawks!
