Gratitude Day Lunch  

• On November 19th, we will be hosting Gratitude Day at Hilburn. Family members are encouraged to join their child in the classroom from 11:00-11:15 to read together before lunch. Family members are welcome to join their child for lunch and a gratitude activity in the cafeteria after.  Families will enter the building through the gym/cafeteria entrance and will sign in before joining the students in the cafeteria or classroom. Our lunch is from 11:20-11:50

THIS MONTH IN 2ND GRADE:

Letterland

• We are working on vowel team syllables in words such as street, rain, unload, toast, and tray.
• We will then move into r-controlled syllables in words such as apart, march, forget, turned, whirl, and sister

EL

Module 2 Paleontology 

• We are currently reading Stone Girl, Bone Girl and students are working on retelling the story in their own words.
• We will read The Dog that Dug for Dinosaurs and will retell the story verbally and in writing.

Math

• We are finishing up time and arrays
• We will move onto adding and subtracting three-digit numbers.

Science/Social Studies

• We will learn about solids versus liquids and the properties to describe them.
