THIS MONTH IN 2ND GRADE:

Letterland

• We are working with Variant Vowel Teams and more r-controlled spelling patterns. 

EL

• We are engaging with informational texts on plants.
• We are working on the 4 stages (seed, plant, flower, fruit).
• Students are discussing and writing characteristics of each stage.
• Students will then begin to learn about how seeds are dispersed.

Math

• We are adding and subtracting three-digit numbers.
• We are also working on word problems up to 1000

Science/Social Studies

• Students are comparing various perspectives of the same time period using primary and secondary sources.
• Students are explaining ways in which various historical events have shaped American history.
• We will then move into understanding patterns of weather and factors that affect weather.
