What We’re Learning

ELA

• Students  found many themes in our novel. We summarized our chapters and analyzed many similes and metaphors in the text. Next week, we will continue to find the themes throughout each chapter, along with summarizing the text. Then, they will use their understanding of the novel to write an essay.    The essay will be focused on the various themes of the novel. Over the next few weeks, we are conducting our final mClass reading assessments. Then, we will begin our final unit of EL for the school year. Students will be learning about how to take action to make a difference in preparation for writing a PSA.

Math:

• Students will be wrapping up a unit on the Metric System and begin reviewing previously learned content.

Social Studies

• Students will begin to learn about North Carolina’s role leading up to World War II.
