About: I am originally from Rhode Island, but I have loved living in North Carolina for over 25 years. I'm passionate about helping children of all ages realize their full potential and develop a love for learning. When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love hiking, playing with my son and dog, and taking trips to the beach.

About: My name is Lisa Mejeur, and I'm thrilled to soar at Hilburn Academy! I have been a dedicated educator in Wake County Public Schools since 2007. With previous experience teaching 3rd and 4th grades at Baucom and Laurel Park Elementary, as well as serving as an intervention teacher/intervention team facilitator at Pleasant Grove Elementary, I bring a passion for education and student growth. I am proud to be a National Board Certified Teacher. Originally from Michigan, I've called North Carolina home since 2007, living in Durham with my husband Daryl, our son, and our two Yorkies, Moose and Milo. Outside of school, I enjoy beach adventures, staying active with workouts and yoga, diving into a good book, and cherishing moments with my family. I'm dedicated to creating a dynamic, collaborative classroom where learning is engaging and enjoyable for all students.
