      Seniors and Senior Parents;
      • Graduation Rehearsal is Tuesday, May 19th, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Meymandi Hall, downtown Raleigh.  Seniors must be present at rehearsal to participate in the VMCCA graduation.  They will receive their graduation tickets at this time.
      • VMCCA Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st at 8:00 AM, at Meymandi Hall.  Seniors must be on site by 7:00 AM to prepare for the ceremony.
    • Parents: Final exams continue this week and end on Thursday, May 21st.  The exam schedule is posted on the VMCCA website.  Please review this schedule as this semester’s schedule has changed.  If your student is not testing, they are not required to be on campus.
    • This is the last Weekly Memo for the school year.  Thanks for all you did to support your students and VMCCA this year. Keep your students safe, have a good evening, and enjoy your summer break.

    • Parents:  Each year WCPSS conducts the Panorama Survey for Parents.  The purpose of this survey is to:
      • To support school sites in creating and strengthening partnerships with families and strengthen family engagement to support strong student academic and social outcomes for students
      • The link to take the survey will be live until May 15: surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/family
    • Seniors and Senior Parents; 
      • Senior Awards is this Thursday, May 14th, starting at 6:00 PM.  Seniors are asked to arrive no later than 5:15 PM, to sign the wall and prepare for the event.

    • Parents: 26-27 course selection verification sheets were sent home with students on April 14th.   Please review the selections and make any desired changes.  Then, sign and have your student return them to the front office by tomorrow, April 20th. 
    • Parents: The VMCCA PTSA is excited to invite students and families to our upcoming Create with Kindness event this Thursday, April 23rd, an evening focused on community, connection, and service. Dinner will be catered by Outback Steakhouse and will be served from 6:00–6:30 PM upon arrival. Please visit our PTSA website to view the flyer and RSVP with your total number of attendees.
    • Parents and Students: VMCCA’s Prom is scheduled for this Friday, April 24th, from 7:00 to 11:00 PM at the Tally Center on the NCSU campus.  Permission forms are required for out-of-school guests.  Please note that students cannot leave and re-enter the prom.  If your student leaves the area, they cannot be re-admitted.

    • Parents: Your student may be taking an EOC exam between May 15th and May 18th, 2026.  This year, students who score “Not Proficient” on their state assessment will have the opportunity to take the test a second time. This retest gives students another chance to demonstrate their learning and growth.  While we encourage you to consider allowing your student to participate in retesting if they qualify, please know that participation in retesting is completely voluntary and requires parent/guardian permission. A letter will be sent home on Tuesday, April 21. If you would like your student to have the opportunity to retest if they score “Not Proficient” on their first attempt, please return the form by this Friday, April 24.  For your planning purposes, the retest dates for the end of the school year are:  May  21st, May 22nd, and May 26th.

    • Carpool Parents: This is a reminder that school starts at 7:25 AM. Please be certain to drop your student off before 7:20 AM to ensure they are not late to first period.  Also, parents should not be parking in visitors' spots to drop off students; they should be dropping off in the carpool lane.
    • Seniors: Tomorrow, Monday, April 13th is the last day to pay for the Senior Trip.  Please see Ms. Price for details.

    • Parents and Students: There will be no school this Thursday and Friday, April 2nd and 3rd, due to a Wake County Teacher workday and the Good Friday Holiday.  VMCCA will be closed for business for these two days. Students will return to school on Monday, April 6th.

    • Parents and Students: Spring Break is this week! There will be no school for students from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20th.  Students begin their fourth quarter on Monday, March 23rd.
    • Senior Parents:  Please make sure your student has reserved their spot on the bus for the senior trip.  The cost is $35 and partial payments are now accepted on the VMCCA website online payment portal. The final due date for all payments is tomorrow, March 23rd.

    • Seniors/Senior Parents:  If you haven't completed the FAFSA, it's time to get started!  Need help/have questions?  Contact Audrey Lee, Financial Aid Advisor at anlee@wcpss.net.
    • Senior Parents and Students: Jostens will be on campus tomorrow, Monday, March 9th to deliver Cap and Gown and senior products during lunch hours.
    • Juniors:  All VMCCA juniors will participate in ACT testing this Wednesday, March 11th during the morning hours. North Carolina requires all students take the ACT during their junior year.   
    • Senior Parents:  Please make sure your student has reserved their spot on the bus for the senior trip.  The cost is $35 and partial payments are now being accepted on the VMCCA website online payment portal. The final due date for all payments is March 23rd. 
    • Freshmen Parents: VMCCA is happy to partner with the International Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro on a virtual field trip for all freshmen this Wednesday, March 11th.  From a VMCCA classroom, freshmen will be taken on a live, guided tour by museum staff.  If you do not want your student to participate in this, please email Ms. King at tking2@wcpss.net. No later than next Monday, March 9th.  You can also reach Ms. King at this email if you have any questions.
    • Parents: As part of our commitment to student safety and well-being in addition to a new state law, all WCPSS middle and high schools are required to show the Protecting Our Students videos to students in grades 6-12 each year.  The training will take place this Friday, March 13th.  
    • Parents and Students: Spring Break is next week! There will be no school for students from Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20th.  Students begin their fourth quarter on Monday, March 23rd.
